Rashtrapati Bhawan New Delhi - the Presidential Palace is the official residence of the President of India. Located in the most attractive area of Delhi at Lyutens’ Delhi, the President House of India spread over 200,000 square feet of land is indeed the largest residence of any Head of State in the world.Rashtrapati Bhawan is designed by the famous architect Lutyens who was a key member of the city-planning process of Delhi. Until 1950, Rashtrapati Bhavan of India served as the residence of Viceroy of India. The palace incorporates 340 rooms in all which include Private Apartments, The State Drawing Room, The State Dining Room, The State Ball Room and The State Library. Drabar room of Rashtrapati Bhawan is used to confer awards ceremonies. Also, Mughal Garden that is a home to bountiful flowers and famed for the highest varieties of roses lies in Rashtrapati Bhavan only. Muhgal Garden is open to public in February every year.
To visit the grand Presidential Palace of India official permit is required which is issued from the reception office situated at Raisina Road in New Delhi.
