Birla Mandir, New Delhi
Birla Mandir is a famous Laxmi-Narayan Mandir built by the famous industrialist of India, Raja Baldev Birla. Located in vicinity of Connaught Place, Birla Mandir is a famous temple in Delhi dedicated to Lord Vishnu and his consort Lakshmi. The temple was inaugurated in 1938 by the Father of Nation, Mahatma Gandhi on the condition that the people of all castes, creed and color especially the untouchables will be allowed to enter and worship without any discrimination.Visitors are requested to remove their footwear before entering the Mandir.
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a haven of peace. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is a famous Sikh shrine in Delhi nestled in the heart of the city at Connaught Place. This Sikh shrine is visited by equal respect and devotion by the Hindus as well. The magnificent structure of Gurudwara Bangla Sahib consists of the Sikh temple, kitchen, sarovar(pond), a school and an art gallery. This Sikh shrine has its doorsopen for all and serves langar to all regardless the race and religion they belong to.Visitors are requested to dress up properly, cover their heads and remove footwear before entering the Gurudwara.
Jama Masjid
Jama Masjid is the most prominent building in Old Delhi. It is indeed the largest mosque in India. Formerly called the Masjid-i-Jahan-Numa, or "Mosque commanding view of the world", Jama Masjid was commissioned by the great Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan. The mosque lies on the western side of the famous Red Fort and is nestled in the bustling streets of Chandani Chowk where the famous Urdu and Persian poet Ghalib lived in his last years. Jama Masjid overwhelmingly crowded on Muslim Festivals and on Fridays.Visitors are requested to dress up in full lengths, cover their heads and remove their footwear before entering the Masjid.
